Month: December 2016

Today, tomorrow, five years from now – what will you thank yourself for doing today?

Throw back Thursday

Yeah, I know.  Kids think they get all the fun.  All the romance and all the good times.   Well.   Sometimes, the adults like a little fun too.   Let’s let them, okay?   A book from last year – hope you enjoy!

Work In Progress Wednesday

My last series was set on a dude ranch in gorgeous southern Illinois.   I’m heading out of my comfort zone for my next one.   Set in the small town of Blizzard, South Dakota,  it has all the wildness and alpha men that, hopefully, a reader will want.

The first book, tentatively titled Stormy’s Season (Stormy Season?)  should be finished by the end of the month.

Brent Cumberland, ex Navy, now college professor, has taken a sabbatical to work on his book and care for his mom, Joan,  who has cancer.

Miranda Storm Wagner has lived in Blizzard all her life, and has been helping Joan.    She also has a stalker, who started out innocuously, but has recently ramped up the harassment.

“Do you understand me?”  Brent said, fiercely.   It wasn’t a question, she could tell.

“I understand,” she said, shivering despite the heat.   “I trust you, but, still, just feel,”  she couldn’t finish the sentence.

“Just feel what?” he asked, and cupped her ass with his free hand.   Nice.  She liked that.

“I don’t know.  Like my life is under a stranger’s control, I guess.   That someone is taking over my life and I can’t do anything to stop it. ”

“The only one planning to control you is me, Miranda Storm,” Brent said it so decisively she almost felt convinced.  Then shook her head, causing her hair to fall in her eyes.

“I don’t need controlled,” she glared at him.

“That is a true fact,” He nodded.   “But you really like it, and as time goes on, you’ll like it more. ”

Hope they can figure out what’s going on outside the relationship so they can start concentrating on the fun stuff!

I’ve been dreaming of being an author for years.  I wrote a whole slew of multi rejected books when my kids were younger, but between jobs and kids and life, book writing got away from me for a while.   Yes, I wrote other things, articles, blogged, etc, but I finally got book published in 2016.

My first book was released end of Jan this year.  I screamed for days when I heard it got accepted and honestly, I still do when I get another acceptance, just a little more quietly.    Oh and it looks like this one is 99 cents on Amazon now!

Her Choice, Always (A "Her Choice" Story) by [McCoy, Megan]

The last one of the year came out end of Nov.

And there were six other ones in between.   Seriously.   Did I do anything else this year?  Well, actually, I have another full time job, that I’m trying to cut way back on for next year.   Plus the best kids and family ever I try to throw a little attention at occasionally.

I’m working on a new series for 2017 and some new goals and hopefully some more fun.

Have you set your 2017 goals yet?  Plan to?  What’s on your list?  Will be sharing my writing goals here in the next few weeks.  It will be interesting to see how far we all get!  I’m ready for the new year!

Monday Motivation

Some days this is really good to remember.    Often plan H is the one that should have been A anyway.
